About Puente

To unite families by training and mentoring Latino parents in becoming resources for their children as they pursue college education.

Our Story

Puente’s story begins with an experience had by one of its co-founders, Gerardo Gamiño whose parents came to the states from Mexico. After having to apply to college on his own, Gamiño transformed what was once his 18-year-old struggle, to a solution for other Latino high school students by forming a service-oriented organization called Puente.

Puente was formed to bridge the gap between parents’ knowledge and their kids’ knowledge of the higher educational system.

Offering informational workshops at high schools in Utah county, Puente supports the Latino community and provides parents with the resources they need to help their children to maximize their education.
